We’re sponsoring musicians Coco and Lafe on their 2011 “Get Fresh” 100 Market Tour across the U.S.! You heard right, 100 farmers markets coast to coast!
Who are Coco and Lafe? A self-described couple of baby boomer singer-songwriters that create original folk and blues tunes, not to mention open-hearted supporters of farmers markets and local, fresh food.
“Premier American songwriters you should hear live…” Jesse Rose Productions, House Concert Series
A few years ago after reaching the rank of “empty-nesters”, they decided to pack up their blue RAV4, quit their jobs and live their dream, writing and performing music together. After a rockin’ 2010, they are touring the country again, along with their furry co-pilot, Lilla, their beagle.
We interviewed them back in December 2010, refresh your memory here!
They’ll be regular contributors to our blog over the next year, gathering photos of markets and vendors and sharing the stories of farmers and food artisans across the country.
Their tour kicks off this year on January 29th at the Central Park Farmers’ Market in Lake Mary, Florida. We’ll be following them around on their travels through this map of their travels and upcoming gigs.
CONTEST ALERT: If you spot Coco & Lafe at your market, take your picture with them, email it to us at firstname.lastname@example.org (don’t forget to include the location of the photo!), and you’ll be featured on our blog!
Until then, enjoy a couple of their tunes, or purchase one of their albums here.
